TL;DR
Every few months, a new acronym makes waves in the AI world.
Right now, that’s MCP, Model Context Protocol.
At LightOn, we see it for what it is: a new way for APIs to talk to each other, and, used wisely, it’s powerful.
That’s why our latest Sunny Seal release introduces MCP Server Integration (Alpha):
a simple way for organizations to add any third-party MCP server as a data source in LightOn’s enterprise search.
Making MCP useful instantly
Until now, LightOn allowed teams to:
- Upload enterprise documents
- Synchronize with systems like SharePoint, ServiceNow, or Teams
- Add custom data sources through standard connectors
Now, you can do one more thing:
⚙️ Add any MCP server instantly, without writing a line of code.
What it means in practice
Imagine an employee asking:
“What’s the procedure for signing an NDA?”
With MCP Server Integration:
- Paradigm can search across uploaded documents
- Query synced repositories (SharePoint, etc.)
- And now, reach out to any connected MCP server (for example, a legal knowledge base or document system that exposes an MCP interface.)
Everything happens securely, within your LightOn environment.
📌 Note: MCP results are retrieved in real time they’re not indexed in Paradigm. The quality and relevance of responses depend on the MCP provider’s own search capabilities.
Available now
MCP Server Integration is available in Alpha with the Sunny Seal release (agents required), and will move to Beta with Tender Tiger.
