Co-founder
Igor a occupé plusieurs postes dans le développement des affaires et la gestion d'équipes techniques dans des projets d'ingénierie spatiale et nucléaire. Il est également co-organisateur du meetup Paris Machine Learning, l'un des plus grands meetup Data Science au monde avec plus de 7 000 membres. Igor écrit également un blog technique axé sur les algorithmes, les données et les capteurs qui a été consulté plus de 7 millions de fois depuis sa création. Igor est titulaire d'un doctorat de la Texas A&M University et d'un diplôme d'ingénieur de l'INPG.

Laurent est diplômé de l'Ecole Normale Supérieure et titulaire d'un doctorat en mathématiques appliquées de l'Université de Marseille. Iacopo has a distinguished career in the field of machine learning and optical processing. He made significant contributions as the Lead Machine Learning Scientist for nearly four years and as an R&D Engineer for over a year. He began his journey with LightOn as a Research Intern in January 2017.
Iacopo has been actively involved in research, with numerous publications to his name. His work has been recognized and cited by peers in the field, particularly in areas related to neural network training on optical processors, adversarial robustness through analog computing, and scalable model-free online change-point detection.

Amélie, Team Lead
A graduate from the prestigious École Normale Supérieure with a focus on physics, Amélie embarked on a journey into theoretical physics, earning a PhD from Université Paris Cité in 2018. Transitioning from theoretical physics, she has since pivoted to the field of Machine Learning, with a current emphasis on Natural Language Processing (NLP) at LightOn. Amélie has also showcased her work at various international workshops and conferences.
Adrien
Adrien boasts a rich background in optics and quantum cryptography. Following a postdoctoral stint at Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6, where he delved into quantum cryptography protocols. Educated at École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay and Laboratoire Kastler Brossel, his research in quantum optics has led to several notable publications on hybrid entanglement and quantum state engineering. Recently, Adrien pivoted to engineering roles in the Large Language Model domain.
Fabien
Fabien is a seasoned Engineer with a strong background in electronics, applied physics, and optics. Since November 2019, he has been contributing to LightOn. Fabien's dedication to research and development is evident from his stint at The University of Queensland, where he worked on a differential interferometric system. His contributions to the field are further highlighted by his involvement in the publication on LightOn's Optical Processing Unit, which introduces a photonic AI accelerator chip for at-scale computations.
Safa
Safa is a seasoned embedded development engineer with a rich portfolio of technical competencies. Graduating from École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Tunis with a degree in Electronics, she possesses expertise in low-level embedded development, programming in C/C++, Python, and VHDL, and is proficient with a range of microcontrollers, FPGA & SOC platforms. Safa's experience spans various projects, including spatial and aeronautical controls, radio frequency systems, and medical applications.

Julien has a diverse background spanning education, technology, and business. He currently serves as an LLM and Prompt Engineer at LightOn. Julien's academic achievements are notable. He is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Science and Executive Engineering at École des Mines de Saint-Étienne, focusing on Data Science and AI. Guillaume, Team Lead
Guillaume is a highly skilled software engineer and researcher with a deep expertise in computer vision, image processing, and deep learning. He holds a PhD, during which he focused on creating and exploiting metadata for a video platform to enhance content recommendation. Guillaume's professional journey includes significant stints at tech giants like Facebook and Google, where he worked as a Software Engineer Intern. At Facebook, he delved into natural language understanding using machine learning, while at Google, he contributed to improving Android's dex2oat compiler.
Oskar
Oskar is a Machine Learning Engineer at LightOn, specializing in Large Language Models. He has a strong foundation in both academic research and practical applications of Generative AI, with previous research and engineering roles at the Reasoning and Learning Lab at Linköping University, Telenor, and Trafikverket in Sweden. These experiences have spanned various domains, including LLMs, GANs, CNNs and Audio Models. Oskar holds a Master's in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning from Linköping University, during which he also studied at EPFL in Switzerland.

Clément is a dedicated R&D Software Engineer currently associated with LightOn. With a tenure of over 2 years as a Full Stack Engineer on a freelance basis in Strasbourg, he has honed his skills in software development and engineering. His recent certifications from Coursera underscore his expertise in Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

Said is a machine learning engineer and open source contributor. With a strong background in data science and computer science from École Centrale de Lyon and a Master's in Data Science from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Said specializes in advanced text recognition, predictive modeling, and customer behavior analysis using state-of-the-art AI techniques. His work includes improving OCR accuracy, wait time forecasting in call centers, and risk estimation in electrical grids, demonstrating a keen ability to apply machine learning solutions to diverse challenges.

Antoine is an R&D Engineer at LightOn with a background in computer engineering and a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence. His work has notably leaned towards text generation, a key focus of his thesis, alongside collaborative efforts on AI applications like fake news detection with IMATAG and IRISA's LinkMedia team. Aurélien
Aurélien is a Machine Learning Engineer at LightOn, specializing in deep learning and multimodal models. He has a strong foundation in both academic research and practical applications of AI and ML. He started his career with an engineering degree in computer science and applied mathematics from ENSEEIHT. During his two years at Thales as an AI/ML engineer, he deepened his understanding of deep learning, focusing on computer vision techniques such as super-resolution, segmentation and domain transfer, as well as NLP and multimodal models, including text-image diffusion models and foundation models.
Mathieu
Mathieu is a seasoned DevOps and Cloud Engineer with a track record at companies like LightOn, Inetum, ADEO, and SNCF. At ADEO, he played a pivotal role in the Hyper-Automation project, focusing on automating operational tasks, analyzing needs, and developing automation workflows. His technical expertise encompasses Linux, Agile, Ansible, Gitlab, and more. Lilian, Team Lead
Lilian is a seasoned Cloud/Data Architect with a strong focus on DevOps, particularly in the Python domain. He is proficient in working with major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure. His expertise spans across multiple operating systems, including various Linux distributions and Windows versions.

Patrice, Lead Product Manager
Graduated in Distributed Computing and Database, Patrice has over 20 years of tech experience. He started at Université de Sherbrooke and managed international business at Revolution Linux. At ISVTEC, he led business development and strategic partnerships.
Patrice further honed his product management skills at ForCity, Neotys, and Tricentis. Now, as a Senior Product Manager at LightOn, he leverages his expertise to deliver high-value AI and data products.
Ben, CPO & CMO
Ben currently holds the position of Director of Products and Marketing at LightOn. At the outset of his career, he contributed to the development of Chronoresto, a precursor in online dining, akin to today's Uber Eats. Chronoresto's success led to its acquisition by the French Yellow Pages. Subsequently, along with his partners , Ben co-founded DialOnce. Together, they innovated in customer relations, offering a solution to abandon the tedious interactive voice response systems ("press 1, press 2…") in favor of a digital orchestration platform. This initiative transformed millions of calls to phone numbers into digital interfaces. This innovation is at the heart of the "Call Digitalization" patent, a technology that impacted one in ten French citizens over the past three years

Hélen, Head of Marketing
Graduated in French Literacy, Political Science and Communication, Hélen has more than 10 years of experience in Brand & Product Marketing strategy. He started out his career in crisis communications for the French energy company Total. He then moved to Public Relation agencies, where he worked for enterprise accounts in Retail, Banking, Defense and Public Institutions such as SNCF, French Ministry of Health and Labor.
In the years before he joined LightOn, Hélen had been in charge of Marketing and Communications for a Start-Up Studio and an AI company that has developed a LLMOps platform.

Patrick currently serves as the Partnerships Coordinator at LightOn. Before this role, he spent nearly 7 years at PwC as the Director of Advisory Services, where he led transformation projects and business intelligence initiatives. Patrick also has a rich history of leadership at idrh for over 18 years, where he directed major projects, drove sales, and secured partnerships. He ventured into the startup world with Orsaia, focusing on artificial intelligence. Patrick's early career includes strategic consulting at Corporate Value Associates, R&D at Alstom Transport. Maxime joins LightOn as an AI Architect within the Customer Success Management (CSM) team. Milo, Head of Operation
Milo currently serves as Head of Operations at LightOn. As such, he is responsible for structuring and scaling the company’s internal operations, including its financial, legal and human resources. He is also responsible for LightOn’s outreach, both to identify new customers and to engage with public policy. Milo joined LightOn from Institut Montaigne, France’s leading policy think tank, where he authored two reports on AI governance and several others on digital policy. Whilst there, he also built the think tank’s innovation programme and launched the Destination AI course, which has trained over 300 000 people in the basics of AI, and a mathematics programme for primary school students.
